Care Month

Strengthening Minds. Uplifting Families.

The Children's Bureau's National Foster Care Month campaign recognizes the important role that people from all parts of child welfare play in supporting children, youth, and families. This year's theme highlights the need to create a child welfare system that authentically engages and supports young people who are preparing to leave foster care.

Social Work Month in March is a time to celebrate the great profession of social work.

The theme for Social Work Month 2024 is Empowering Social Workers! During Social Work Month take time to learn more about the many positive contributions of the profession, and use the items in our toolkit to celebrate all the social workers you know.

The Children's Bureau's Child Welfare Capacity Building Collaborative helps public child welfare agencies, Tribes, and courts enhance and mobilize the human and organizational assets necessary to meet Federal standards and requirements; improve child welfare practice and administration; and achieve safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes for children, youth, and families.
